Horsehair With Glazed Band Raku Vase

This Horsehair With Glazed Band Raku Vase was created in our studio. It was also fired in the kiln we made. Raku is a process by which pottery is fired at a relatively low temperature. It is then moved while hot to a closed container with combustible materials (such as paper or sawdust). These then ignite and cause a reaction creating colors and patterns in the pottery’s surface.
